Spring time wandering

While we are happy to see the sun shining in this warmer weather, it also might be a time for folks with dementia to wander away.

To keep seniors safe; - install an additional lock on the door that is above eye level - place a large sign saying “DO NOT ENTER” on the inside of door. Many people with dementia won’t open a door with this type of instruction. - Hide the car keys. These can be a visual reminder to head out for a Sunday drive

Spend time enjoying the outdoors with those you love. A short stroll, sitting outside listening to the birds or watching the kids play at the park. The fresh air will replace the thought of wandering.
